A flickering laptop
screen creates nuisance in work. It does not allow a laptop user to concentrate
on his work, so he has to leave his work in mid. Here are some steps that can
help you fix this problem if ever you experience this.
Step 1-
Do a right click on the desktop and select “Screen
Resolution” then click on "Advanced Settings" and then on "Monitor.”
Now, if you see the option “Hide Modes That This Monitor Cannot Display"
enabled then select higher refresh rate from the list.
Step 2-
Open “Control Panel,” click on "Hardware and Sound" and then on "Device
Manager." Now, you get an option "Display Adapters,” as you will
click on this option, you will come to know the exact brand and model of your
video card. Now, you can check the driver web page on laptop manufacturer’s
website. Search for the appropriate drivers and download them.
Step 3-
Lower and raise the laptop for several time to check whether the
flickering is not related to movement. Mainly, this problem happens because of
screen cable being loosen or damaged. However, sometimes, inverter and
backlight are responsible for the problem. Open your laptop and to check
whether either of these is behind the problem. An important thing, do not do
any kind of tampering with laptop unless you are familiar with the device and
understand this pretty well.
